Our
Internet prices are very
competitive, not least because our customers do a lot
of the work themselves. They obviously carry out the fitting,
or arrange for a local fitter/handyman to do the job,
but they also undertake measuring of all items and accept
that if they get an item 'wrong' then they have to pay
for a replacement. Despite the fact that we have an excellent
system for ensuring that the specification is correct
before manufacturing commences, mistakes can still sometimes
occur.
From
feedback received from customers over a considerable
period we have learned that a significant number of people
are apprehensive about getting their measurements 'right'
- particularly hinge hole positions. As a result we have
decided to test out a new service, initially for customers
located within about 100 miles of our premises. If the
scheme proves successful we intend to extend further afield
and eventually cover the whole country.
For
a relatively modest, pre agreed fee we have a professional
surveyor who will visit your home, by appointment, listen
to what you intend to do and measure all of the doors
- including hinge holes/drawer fronts and accessories.
At your request he will bring door/colour samples for
you to see but he WILL NOT attempt to sell to you. He
will produce a detailed list of all the items you need
and leave a copy with you, another copy will be brought
back for us to cost from which we will Email your quotation.
The fee which is payable direct to the surveyor at the
time he calls covers the cost of travelling to your home
and the time spent in doing the survey. Within 40 miles
of Didcot it is £30.00 which is not a lot to pay
for complete peace of mind (in the unlikely event the
surveyor incorrectly measures he will replace the faulty
item(s) at no extra cost to you).
