Painted Five Piece MDF Kitchen Bedroom or Bathroom Door Ranges
Painted Replacement Doors present the opportunity of creating a completely bespoke effect. You have the choice of selecting one of our popular standard colours or for a very modest price premium request we match any colour from any colour chart. Alternatively if you wish to hand paint the doors yourself we can supply the door style of your choice but in Raw unfinished MDF. Alternatively we can supply primed, which allows you to just apply a top coat. Wardrobe size doors are available as are glazed or mirrored panel options for most styles but we would recommend that for primed or unfinished doors we supply rebated open frames for you to glaze after painting is complete.
These replacement doors are 5 piece that is they comprise a frame which is made from 4 separate peces and an inset panel. The vertical parts of the frame are known as stiles and the horizontal pieces are rails. The frames vary in width depending on the style but all are 21mm thick with either an 8mm or 18mm thick panel, again depending upon the style. The doors are sanded in preparation for a primer to be applied, followed by top coats. The paints comprise a 2 pack system sprayed on to the surface. The two components mix in the spray gun nozzle and 'cure' on the door surface into a very hard durable satin finish. The gloss level may be varied but our experience is that satin is the most pleasing in appearance. Spray paint is unsuitable for applying by hand but small pots of 'touch up' paint can be supplied. For hand painting larger areas most paint suppliers will provide a colour matching service. Only the highest quality moisture resistant MDF board is used so as to ensure years of trouble free service. The Minimum height or width is 50mm, the Maximum height is 2400mm, Maximum width is 1000mm.
All of the doors in all of our ranges are completely made to measure and we will quote for any size which is specified (within the size limits for that range - see above). It is worth noting however that in order for doors and drawers to open without rubbing against an adjacent item then door and drawer front widths are usually a few mm less than the cabinet width. A typical door or drawer front for a 500mm wide cabinet would be 496mm wide. At the stage where you are providing sizes for us to quote please do not be too concerned about this aspect. Once you have placed your order we have a tried and tested system for ensuring these sorts of details are specified correctly. Similarly with hinge holes, for quotation we only need to know whether the door is to be drilled or not, we will request details for positions when you have placed the order.
