Cornice Pelmet and Plinth |
Whilst the fitting of Cornice and Pelmet may be considered optional virtually every fitted kitchen has plinth or kickboard, closing the gap between the base cabinet and the floor. Cornice is purely decorative but pelmet, fitted to the underside of wall cabinets, hides any under cabinet lighting. With the exception of some of the Primary Colours, in the Meldec Laminate door range, we can offer matching Plinth, Pelmet and Cornice for all of our Door Ranges.
PLINTHS are available in 2400mm lengths and are usually 150mm wide x 18mm thick but can be supplied in alternative widths if specified when ordering. It is made from the same material as that used for the doors with which it is to be fitted. Corners can be butt or mitre joined and the usual means of fitting is by using Sprung Plastic Plinth Clips which are attached to the back of the Plinth and then clipped on to the cabinet legs. |

CORNICE available in 3000mm lengths, the profile is usually screwed in place from above. If there is insufficient room between top of cupboard and ceiling it can be fixed by screwing up inside the cabinet. For most door ranges there is a choice of profiles, the Modern or Tangent Profile is currently very popular used with contemporary door styles such as Slab and Shaker. As expected the Traditional Profile still finds favour with styles such as Cathedral Arch but there are no set rules, the end user quite correctly decides which they prefer.

| PELMET available in 3000mm lengths, may be fixed by screwing down through the inside of the cabinet or alternatively from the back by means of fixing brackets. As for Cornice there is a choice of profiles, the Modern or Tangent and also Traditional Profile. |

Bullnose Combination Pelmet/Cornice available in 3000mm lengths. Clean modern lines, the same profile is used as both Cornice & Pelmet. Fixed to the cabinet in the same way as the other Cornice & Pelmet profiles.
